Downtown Corner Enhancement Project
The City of Port Isabel takes pride in announcing the Downtown Corner Enhancement Project, a component of the “El Paseo De Santa Isabel” hike and bike trail to rejuvenate interest in the downtown area. This project will involve the renovation of eleven corners that play an important part in the overall plan to make the downtown historical district a primary destination rather than a second day excursion.
Not since 1997, when Port Isabel and TxDOT officials collaborated on the beautification of the Highway 100 medians has there been such an ambitious attempt to refurbish the downtown historical district.

Each of the corners will contain a period style bench unique to Port Isabel, a decorative lamp post, a trash receptacle, a shade tree, and a plaque commemorating the sponsors participation in this crucial project.
This will be an opportunity for the community to be part of Port Isabel’s rejuvenation as a tourist destination. . .
